Why you should consider

| Sometime in December of 2002, Xena (a big silver girl from our very first litter) escaped from her home in Longview, Wa and disappeared. Her owner searched for her without success, and then contacted us. Xena is a sweet, friendly girl who loved people. We fervently hope that she just decided to 'rehome' herself and is currently living a happy, gentle life. Unfortunately, Xena was not micro-chipped, and as reported to us, when her owner contacted the local animal control people, they did not offer much in the way of hope since she was not micro-chipped. |

We at Coonpanion are currently having our vet 'chip all our cats, as we cycle them through their vet visits. We do not currently microchip our kittens - the current advice we have is that they should be older before doing that to prevent chip migration. Nor do we require our kitten buyers to have Coonpanion cats 'chipped at a later date. But, and I will be revising our contract in the near future to address this point, we STRONGLY recommend it. |
